Theatre Building Chicago seeks a Marketing Director. This full-time position will be responsible for promoting Theatre Building Chicago and its two principal programs (space services and musical development). Duties include implementing the marketing plan for both programs; advising on IT and data base integration; maintaining the master calendar of activities; creating promotional materials including the website; liaisoning with client theatres and company personnel on promotions; liaisoning with board on fund raising activities.
The ideal candidate will be a skilled writer with knowledgeable public relations practices; possess excellent organization skills and attention to detail, have the ability to juggle multiple projects on deadline, and enjoy working collaboratively and independently. Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office is essential. Additional computer skills and graphic design interests are preferred.
A bachelor's degree in liberal arts, communications, theatre or related field and a year’s experience in a related field are preferred. The salary range is in the upper twenties depending upon qualifications. Benefits include health, 3week vacation, and a flexible schedule.
Celebrating its 30th anniversary season, THEATRE BUILDING CHICAGO serves as the preeminent crossroads for Chicago’s grassroots theatre. THEATRE BUILDING CHICAGO is a non-profit incubator that offers space and services to theatre companies and artists and that develops original musical works.
With its space services program, Theatre Building Chicago houses three 148-seat black box spaces and provides services such as comprehensive box office, publicity assistance, technical support and consulting services.
With its musical theatre development program, Theatre Building Chicago conducts a workshop to teach the unique elements of musical theatre to writers, composers and lyricists, produces musical projects in progress to hone writing skills, presents an annual festival of new musicals in progress and produces new musicals.
